Oklahoma Passes and Enacts SB 613, Protects Children from Medical Experimentation

Press Releases · May 2, 2023

WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, including thousands of Oklahomans, released the following statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson commending the Oklahoma Legislature and Governor Kevin Stitt for passing and enacting SB 613, legislation that prohibits physicians and medical professionals from performing experimental cross-sex hormones and surgeries on children under 18 years old.

“Experimental surgeries that remove healthy body parts and dangerous cross-sex hormones are not the compassionate solution children suffering from gender confusion need. These so-called “treatments” fail to resolve underlying mental health issues and often lead to irreversible physical harm, psychological damage, and even potential sterilization. SB 613 protects children by prohibiting medical professionals from performing experimental cross-sex hormones and surgeries on minors.

With the Left’s growing push to force radical gender ideology on Americans, it’s more important than ever for states to do their part to protect our nation’s children. Heritage Action applauds Senator Julie Daniels, Representative Toni Hasenback, and the Oklahoma Legislature working together to protect children in the Sooner State and thanks Governor Stitt for signing it into law. We will continue working alongside grassroots Americans to keep up the fight and defend our children from the dangers of medical experimentation.”
