Issues

Immigration

Heritage Action Position

Heritage Action supports immigration-related legislation that addresses these four principles: enforcing U.S. immigration law, securing our border, opposing amnesty, and implementing merit-based legal immigration reform.

Healthcare

Heritage Action Position

Heritage Action is holding Congress and the administration accountable to advancing conservative efforts to topple Obamacare. Republicans have yet another opportunity to follow through on their repeated campaign promises and provide Americans with lower cost and greater access to healthcare.

Employee Rights Act

Heritage Action Position

The Employee Rights Act would solve many problems workers face today, including problems enshrined in current labor law. The bill would help restore a balance of power in the workplace from unions to workers and help ensure labor unions best serve the interest of employees, not union bosses. Heritage Action supports the legislation, encourages Representatives to support it, and reserves the right to key vote in the future.

Food Stamps

Heritage Action Position

If passed and signed into law, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Reform Act of 2017 would encourage millions of Americans to get back to work, help end the cycle of poverty for millions dependent on government assistance, and save taxpayers billions of dollars over the next decade. Heritage Action supports the legislation, encourages Representatives and Senators to support it, and reserves the right to key vote in the future.

Military ESAs

Heritage Action Position

Heritage Action supports the Education Savings Accounts for Military Families Act of 2018 (H.R. 5199), and will include co-sponsorship of the legislation on our scorecard. It is the right thing to do for the men and women who serve, for our nation’s long term security, and for advancing school choice.

Rescissions

Heritage Action Position

Heritage Action supports President Trump’s rescission request and expects lawmakers on both sides of the aisle and in both chambers to put the American taxpayer first by rescinding $15.4 billion that has been unused, diverted, or has become unnecessary. This is basic fiscal housekeeping.

Confirm President Trump's Nominee

Heritage Action Position

Heritage Action supports President Trump’s nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. Kavanaugh is a “judge’s judge” who will, based on his record, not legislate from the bench, but instead faithfully interpret the law, honor the separation of powers, and uphold and protect individual rights spelled out in the Constitution.

Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act

Heritage Action Position

Heritage Action supports the House’s Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act (H.R. 6470), which includes the Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act (H.R. 1881 & S. 811).
