Heritage Action Issues Key Vote Urging Senators to Pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act

Press Releases · Jun 30, 2025

WASHINGTONHeritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with 2.5 million activists nationwide, today issued a Key Vote in support of the Senate Amendment to H.R. 1, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

This is Heritage Action’s third legislative Key Vote of the 119th Congress. In issuing a Key Vote, lawmakers are notified that their vote on this amendment will affect their scoring on the Heritage Action Scorecard which holds lawmakers accountable, showing voters how conservative lawmakers are by comparing their policy priorities to Heritage Action’s. The scores of lawmakers who oppose the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1) will be negatively impacted.

Heritage Action President Dr. Kevin Roberts urged senators to pass the bill:

“The One Big Beautiful Bill Act delivers what Americans have long demanded: the beginning of a return to common sense, to accountability, and to a government that serves the people, not the other way around.
“At Heritage, we don’t settle for symbolism—we fight for substance. The House took a strong step forward, achieving many conservative wins for the American people. Now, the Senate has sharpened that work. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act is not just an ambitious compilation of good policy, it’s a turning point towards a better future for the American people.”

The Senate’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act contains significant wins for the American people and advances key pieces of the America First agenda, including:

  • Extending and expanding tax cuts for American families,

  • Making permanent major pro-growth reforms in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act,

  • Stepping up border security and immigration enforcement,

  • Rebuilding America’s military and restoring our national defense,

  • Blocking taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood,

  • Strengthening SNAP work requirements,

  • Eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicaid by creating work requirements, tightening eligibility, and limiting state financing schemes, and

  • Scaling back wasteful Green New Deal subsidies forced onto taxpayers in Biden’s deceptively named Inflation Reduction Act.

There is far more work to be done to ensure lawmakers keep the promises they made to voters. To that end, Heritage Action encourages the administration and Congress to act immediately to implement priorities that did not make it into this legislation. 80 million Americans voted for President Trump’s agenda: spending cuts, mass deportations, a rebuilt military, and an end to the corrupt administrative state in D.C. Congress must continue to work to use every opportunity to make this agenda a reality.

Through engagement on Capitol Hill and activation of conservative voters across the country, Heritage Action Key Votes play an important role in legislative movement.
