Heritage Action Applauds Missouri’s Commitment to Protecting Life

Press Releases · May 10, 2024

WASHINGTON—Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million activists nationwide, including thousands of Missourians, released the following statement from Director of State Advocacy Catherine Gunsalus lauding the Missouri General Assembly and Governor Mike Parson for passing and enacting HB 2634, legislation that prohibits public funding of abortion clinics:

“In light of the Left’s extreme abortion position that puts women and children last, conservatives have a duty to defend life. Longstanding federal law and basic constitutional rights demand that taxpayers in Missouri should not be forced to pay for abortions. HB 2634 pushes back on progressives’ dangerous agenda, defends taxpayers, and promotes the right to life for all Missourians.

“Heritage Action commends the Missouri General Assembly and Governor Mike Parson for promoting a culture of life in the Show-Me State. The passage and signing of HB 2634 makes Missouri a leader in defending the unborn, and we look forward to working alongside grassroots Americans to encourage other states to follow suit.”
