Background information

In the November 3 election, no candidate in either Georgia senate race reached the “50 percent plus one vote” threshold required to win an election under Georgia law. These two Georgia Senate races will be decided in a runoff election on January 5, 2021.

The outcome of these two senate races will determine whether Democrats have 48, 49, or 50 seats in the U.S. Senate. Pending the still contested presidential election results, control of the Senate could shift entirely to the Democrats with a Vice President Kamala Harris having the Constitutionally assigned, tie-breaking vote.

A Schumer-led Senate could change Senate rules to end the filibuster, which requires 60 votes to end debate on legislation before moving onto a final vote of passage.

In this scenario, with the filibuster gone and Democrats in control of the House, Senate, and Presidency, there would be little to stop the Democrats from transforming America and implementing their socialist agenda.

Democrats would be able to rig the Senate to pack the courts, implement a radical Green New Deal, allow our police to be defunded, increase taxes, and expand Government.

To stop this radical agenda, Heritage Action is:

  1. Educating voters on the issues.
  2. Recruiting poll workers to ensure a fair election.
  3. Turning out the conservative vote.

If you live in Georgia and are 16 or older, you can help ensure the integrity of the election by becoming a poll worker in your county:

Talking Points

  • Georgians will determine control of the Senate. If Democrats win both Senate races in Georgia, they will hold 50 Senate seats, and the Vice President will be the tie-breaking vote.

  • Democrats could potentially hold a unified government. Pending the contested presidential election results and these Senate races, Democrats could control the White House and both chambers of Congress.

  • With unified government, Democrats will radically change America. The last time Democrats had unified government, they passed Obamacare. This time, they will push for Medicare-for-all, pass the Green New Deal, and pack the Supreme Court.

  • Georgians don’t want Schumer’s socialist agenda. Georgians want safe neighborhoods and good jobs.

  • Every LEGAL vote counts on January 5. We’re registering poll workers to help ensure a fair election. And we’re turning out the conservative vote!

Things a Schumer Senate will do: 1⃣ Push for government-controlled healthcare. 2⃣ Pass a Green New Deal. 3⃣ Pack the Supreme Court.

The road to socialism doesn’t go through Georgia. Georgians believe in individual liberty, the 2nd amendment, good jobs, and safe neighborhoods protected by the police!
