Stop Confirming Obama's Judicial Nominees

Press Releases · Jan 10, 2016

Washington - This afternoon, the Senate is scheduled to vote on the nomination of Luis Felipe Restrepo to serve as a judge on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. The unanimous consent agreement locking in the confirmation vote occurred in December, prior to President Obama's most recent unilateral actions intended to arbitrarily increase immigration and undermine the Second Amendment. Heritage Action released the following statement from chief executive officer Michael A. Needham:

"President Obama has repeatedly ignored the separation of powers over the past seven years. It defies explanation that the first vote Senate Republicans take in 2016 would be to confirm yet another Obama-nominated judge. Given the administration's disregard for Congress's role in our constitutional system of government, the Senate should refuse to confirm any more of the president's judicial nominees."
