S.B. 99 Defends Montana Children from Harmful Medical Experimentation

Press Releases · Feb 8, 2023

WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, including thousands of Montanans, released the following statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson supporting the passage of S.B. 99, legislation that would establish consequences for health care providers that administer cross-sex hormones, puberty blockers, and perform gender transition surgeries on minors.

“Children who struggle with mental health problems like gender dysphoria need compassionate care, not gender transition surgeries or dangerous cross-sex hormones. Not only do these so-called treatments fail to address underlying mental health issues, but they also cause irreversible physical damage that will impact children for the rest of their lives. In fact, studies suggest that, after sex reassignment surgery, transgender-identified people are nearly 20 times more likely to die from suicide than the general population.

Montana has a chance to protect children by passing S.B. 99, legislation which would ban these dangerous drugs and surgeries and establish consequences for the physicians who administer them. Our children deserve better care than the extreme treatments being pushed by Left-wing groups attempting to radically redefine gender. Heritage Action thanks Senator John Fuller for sponsoring S.B. 99 and looks forward to the legislation making its way to Governor Gianforte’s desk.”
