WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, including thousands of North Carolinians, released the following statement from Acting Executive Director Ryan Walker commending the North Carolina General Assembly for passing an education budget that expands North Carolina’s school voucher program to universal eligibility for all K-12 students.
“All students deserve to have access to a variety of education options. North Carolina’s state budget expands education freedom for North Carolina families across the state, and joins over a dozen states that have passed bills expanding education choice this year. Expanding the North Carolina Opportunities Scholarship to universal eligibility means all K-12 students can get better access to the education that best fits their unique needs.
The North Carolina General Assembly’s expansion of the Opportunities Scholarship reflects a growing nationwide momentum to advance education freedom policies that empower parents to make the best education decisions for their children. Heritage Action commends North Carolina for being the ninth state to expand education freedom to all K-12 families and giving them the flexibility they need for their children to thrive. We look forward to working alongside grassroots North Carolinians to continue achieving conservative policy victories that benefit all residents of the Tar Heel State.”
