Nebraska Legislature Passes LB 574, Protecting Unborn Babies and Children from Abortion, Experimental Surgeries, and Cross-Sex Hormones

WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, including thousands of Nebraskans, released the following statement from Janae Stracke, Vice President of Field Operations, commending the Nebraska Legislature’s passage of LB 574, legislation that defends the lives of unborn babies from 12-weeks’ gestation and protects children from dangerous cross-sex hormones and experimental surgeries that remove or alter healthy body parts.

“It’s harmful and irresponsible to promote abortion and coerce children into taking cross-sex hormones, puberty blockers, and having surgery on their healthy body parts because they cannot meaningfully consent to them. Abortion, experimental surgeries, and harmful drugs cause irreversible physical and psychological harm to women and children that sometimes even lead to sterilization. The Nebraska Legislature has taken an important step to protect life and children under 18 from these dangerous procedures and cross-sex hormones by passing LB 574.

By passing LB 574, the Nebraska Legislature has worked to protect the family unit and uphold Nebraska values. Heritage Action thanks the Nebraska Legislature for standing up for Nebraska children and families and passing LB 574. We urge Governor Pillen to sign this common-sense legislation and we look forward to working alongside grassroots Americans to pass more bills like this that protect children and unborn babies from harm.”
