Nebraska Legislature Advances Heartbeat Bill

Press Releases · Apr 12, 2023

WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, including thousands of Nebraskans, released the following statement from Janae Stracke, Vice President of Field Operations, commending the Nebraska Legislature for advancing LB 626, legislation that protects the lives of unborn babies from six weeks’ gestation.

“Children and families are the backbone of a healthy society, and women must feel supported to choose life for their babies when their beating hearts are detected. With the Left pushing a radical abortion-on-demand agenda, it’s essential to defend the right to life in states like Nebraska. By advancing LB 626, the Nebraska Legislature has taken up the fight to protect the lives of unborn babies from six weeks’ gestation.

Heritage Action thanks the Nebraska Legislature for taking steps to preserve the sanctity of life in the Cornhusker State and advancing LB 626. We look forward to this important legislation formally passing the Nebraska Legislature and landing on Governor Pillen’s desk. We will continue to work alongside grassroots Americans to protect unborn babies across the country from the moment their heartbeats are detected.”
