WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, including thousands of Hoosiers, released the following statement from Janae Stracke, Vice President of Field Operations, supporting the passage of SB 480, HB 1407, and HB 1608, a series of bills that would protect the health and well being of Hoosier children by safeguarding them against radical gender ideology and strengthening parental rights.
“As Left-wing radicals advocate to push parents out of classrooms, teach inappropriate content to young children, and encourage minors to use dangerous cross-sex hormones, Hoosiers need to fight back. The General Assembly has an opportunity to combat these threats and stand up for Indiana’s children by passing SB 480, HB 1407, and HB 1608.
If enacted, SB 480 would protect children by prohibiting medical professionals from administering cross-sex hormones and performing experimental surgeries on minors. HB 1407 would solidify the fundamental right of parents to direct the upbringing, education, health care, and ensure the mental health of their children instead of the government. Finally, HB 1608 would prevent school personnel from pushing planned instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity issues in kindergarten through third grade.
The rights of Hoosier families are more important now than ever before as Left-wing activists seek to push radical gender ideology. Heritage Action encourages the Indiana General Assembly to pass SB 480, HB 1407, and HB 1608 to preserve children’s welfare and strengthen parental rights. We look forward to working alongside grassroots Hoosiers to stand up for our children and strengthen the family unit.”
