Washington—Heritage Action released the following statement from Executive Director Tim Chapman in response to the Senate's acquittal of President Trump:
Today, the Senate voted to defeat one of the most divisive, partisan efforts our nation has ever seen. Now that this distracting, partisan impeachment trial is over, Congress can turn to the real work of governing. It is long past time to secure the border, reduce runaway federal spending, and resume their record-setting pace of confirming federal judges. Instead of spending months to overturn the American people's vote, Congress can do what they were elected to do: get back to work.
A dark chapter in our nation's history is over. It's time to turn the page.
