Heritage Action Urges Arizona Lawmakers to Defend Life

Press Releases · Apr 16, 2024

WASHINGTON—Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million activists nationwide, including thousands of Arizonans, released the following statement from Director of State Advocacy Catherine Gunsalus urging state lawmakers to uphold their promise to defend life and oppose the effort to repeal an Arizona law protecting the unborn:

“All humans have intrinsic value and should be protected from the moment of conception. Pro-life Arizonans put their faith in conservative lawmakers and expect them to defend life following the Arizona Supreme Court’s reaffirming of legislative intent. HB 2677 is a backward step that endangers the lives of thousands of unborn Arizonans.

“The pro-life movement is watching this crucial moment in Arizona. Heritage Action stands at the forefront of the fight for life and urges state lawmakers to keep their pro-life promises by opposing HB 2677.”

95% of the legal abortions in Arizona happen before 15 weeks of pregnancy. Despite the Arizona Supreme Court ruling in favor of life, HB 2677 would codify the vast majority of abortions in the state, betraying the most fundamental right conservatives seek to uphold.
