WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with 2.5 million grassroots activists nationwide, applauds today’s bill signing of President Trump’s $9 billion rescissions package, successfully eliminating woke and weaponized government spending, and curbing our excessive national debt.
Heritage Action President Dr. Kevin Roberts released the following statement commending this monumental signing of President Trump’s first rescissions package:
“With President Trump’s signing of the rescissions package, Congress has delivered a decisive win for the American people. Heritage Action issued a key vote in the 119th Congress on this bold rescissions package, prioritizing the elimination of woke, weaponized and unnecessary spending from the federal budget.
For decades, Heritage has fought to end the misuse of hardworking taxpayers’ dollars to prop up left-wing media. This victory is just the beginning. Our conservative grassroots army remains committed to holding lawmakers accountable to implement commonsense policies and end federal waste.”
Angeles T. Arredondo E Pluribus Unum Senior Fellow at The Heritage Foundation, Mike Gonzalez, also issued a quote commending this cut in wasteful government spending to NPR and the Center for Public Broadcasting (CPB):
“I wrote my first critique of public broadcasting for Heritage 15 years ago, in 2010, exposing the left-wing bias of NPR, PBS and the CPB. Finally, the injustice of forcing hardworking taxpayers to fund left-wing media has come to an end. President Trump’s signing of the rescission package marks a historic win to ensure that taxpayer dollars no longer prop up partisan agendas. By doing this, Trump has done something all his conservative predecessors tried to do for the past half century but failed. Credit where credit is due.”
Heritage Action has long worked to restore fiscal sanity to Washington, holding lawmakers accountable in curbing federal spending and defunding radically woke organizations such as NPR and PBS. Through issuing two Key Votes to hold Congress accountable, and activating conservative voters nationwide, Heritage Action has played a pivotal role in ensuring this rescission package was passed and delivered to the President’s desk.
