Heritage Action Issues Key Vote Urging Senate to Pass President Trump’s Rescissions Package

Press Releases · Jul 15, 2025

WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with 2.5 million grassroots activists nationwide, today issued a Key Vote in support of President Trump’s proposed rescissions package to eliminate woke and wasteful government spending. The legislation to enact these rescissions, led by House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and Senator Eric Schmitt, will be considered in the Senate this week.

Heritage Action Vice President of Government Relations Steve Chartan released the following statement in support of this rescissions package:

“President Trump’s proposed rescissions are an essential piece to implementing his agenda to protect U.S. taxpayers and enact lasting change in Washington by dealing a major blow to the weaponized foreign aid bureaucracy and public funding of woke indoctrination at NPR and PBS. Heritage Action has worked tirelessly to combat waste, fraud and abuse by previous administrations. It’s time to move this bill through the Senate and onto the President’s desk.”

By issuing a Key Vote, lawmakers are notified that their position on this legislation will affect their score on the Heritage Action scorecard, which shows voters and activists how conservative lawmakers are by comparing their policy priorities to those of Heritage Action. The scores of lawmakers who do not support the rescissions package will be negatively impacted.

Through engagement on Capitol Hill and activation of conservative voters across the country, Heritage Action Key Votes play a pivotal role in legislative movement.
