Heritage Action Praises Idaho Bill Protecting Kids, Parents from Gender Ideology

Press Releases · Feb 8, 2024

WASHINGTON—Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, including thousands of Idahoans, released the following statement from State Advocacy Director Catherine Gunsalus commending the Idaho House for passaging H. 421, legislation that protects kids and combats radical gender ideology by accurately defining “sex” and “gender.”

“President Biden and progressive activists want to pretend that gender is malleable, that men can compete in women’s sports without causing harm, and that children should be subjected to experimental surgeries. These lies are not only irresponsible and antithetical to science, they’re dangerous. Heritage Action is proud to stand alongside states like Idaho that are fighting for kids, parents, and the truth by passing legislation like H. 421 that clearly and accurately defines ‘sex’ and ‘gender.’

“Heritage Action applauds the Idaho House for combating the Left’s delusion and passing H. 421. This crucial legislation is the first of its kind to pass this year and comes as the Biden administration continually threatens the integrity of women’s sports and kids’ overall safety. Idaho’s State senators have a duty to act and follow the House’s lead to pass H. 421.”

The opposition to radical gender ideology is growing with each passing year. More than 65% of Americans oppose access to puberty-blocking medication for children, and almost 70% of Americans do not believe male athletes should be allowed to compete against girls and women.

Heritage Action looks forward to working alongside grassroots Americans to build on this nationwide momentum, protect kids and parents, and restore common sense.
