Heritage Action Launches E-Book for Activists Across the Country to Reject Critical Race Theory

Press Releases · Jun 21, 2021

WASHINGTON — This morning, Executive Director Jessica Anderson joined Stuart Varney on Fox Business to introduce Heritage Action’s Reject Critical Race Theory E-Book. The e-book provides our two million grassroots activists with information on how to recognize Critical Race Theory (CRT) and how to fight back by contacting elected officials and using the FOIA request process to get information about how government officials are pushing CRT in the classroom.

“Rejecting critical race theory is one of the most important fights for conservative grassroots since the Tea Party movement. With the e-book Heritage Action is rolling out today, we are giving the power back to concerned parents by equipping them with information on what critical race theory is, how to spot it, and how to combat it in their communities." Anderson said. "Critical race theory is electrifying the conservative movement and Heritage Action is leading the fight against the Left’s radical agenda.”

The e-book trains activists in using open records requests, which can unearth discussions at state departments of education, emails from government officials, or lists of curriculum that are being taught in schools to increase transparency in education.

Background:

  • Critical Race Theory (CRT) is a radical Marxist philosophy that claims others should be stereotyped, judged, and denounced based on skin color. It pits Americans against each other as “oppressor” vs “oppressed” based on their race. CRT lessons and efforts are spreading in public and private schools and can be disguised as “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) programs, or “anti-racist teaching” — even though they’re the opposite.
  • Earlier this month, Heritage Action hosted a rally in Loudoun County, Virginia with over 300 parents who are worried about CRT being taught in their children’s classrooms.
  • 58% of Americans from across the political spectrum find CRT somewhat or very unfavorable. Only 38% said they viewed critical race theory favorably (Economist/YouGov).
