Heritage Action: Congress must now begin the work to enact a bold conservative agenda

Press Releases · Jan 3, 2025

WASHINGTON—Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with 2.5 million activists nationwide, released the following statement after Representative Mike Johnson (R-LA) was elected to again serve as Speaker of the House for the 119th Congress:

“Heritage Action represents millions of hard-working Americans across this great nation. In November, the American people spoke and ushered in a mandate for a new Republican governing majority. The American people demanded a secure border, lower taxes for hardworking families, protection of women, defense, and deterrence against threats from our adversaries, and an unleashed American energy industry. Heritage Action stands ready to support Congress in this mission to make America stronger, safer, and more prosperous than ever before.

“Today, the House also considered the rules package for the 119th Congress that includes significant legislative priorities for Heritage Action, including the SAVE Act and the Protecting Women and Girls in Sports Act. Congress must now begin the work to enact a bold conservative agenda. We congratulate Speaker Johnson on his re-election to Speaker of the House and look forward to working with all members of the 119th Congress to enact conservative policy wins.”
