Washington—Today, President Trump nominated Russell Vought as Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Heritage Action for America released the following statement from Vice President Jessica Anderson:

“I have had the privilege to work with Russ Vought for nearly a decade, both at Heritage Action and at the White House. Russ has been a true friend and outstanding conservative leader. During his time as Vice President of Heritage Action, Russ led the conservative charge against Obamacare, runaway federal spending, and Washington cronyism. At OMB, he has worked to cut wasteful spending and unnecessary regulations, fought for border security, protected life, and helped enact the president’s policy vision across the executive branch.

I also thank outgoing director Mick Mulvaney for his outstanding work and his commitment to enacting conservative principles. Both Mick and Russ have fought hard to restrain the federal government from fiscal insanity. Russ has an outstanding record as acting director, and I have no doubt he will continue to lead the office to even greater things after being confirmed as permanent OMB Director.”
