WASHINGTON—Heritage Action, a conservative organization with 2.5 million grassroots activists nationwide, including thousands of Kansans, today lauded the Kansas Senate’s passage of SB 6, legislation that strengthens the state’s election integrity by banning the use of ranked-choice voting (RCV).
Former Kansas Assistant Secretary of State and Heritage Action Director of State Advocacy Catherine Gunsalus released the following statement commending Kansas for promoting election integrity, saying:
“Ranked-choice voting is a confusing, inefficient system that disenfranchises voters and unfairly elects candidates. Voters in the Sunflower State deserve to have confidence in the integrity of their elections.
“Senate Bill 6 is a crucial step toward ensuring voters’ trust in Kansas elections and fighting back against RCV nationwide. Heritage Action applauds the Kansas Senate for promoting free and fair elections, and we look forward to continuing our work alongside grassroots Kansans to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat.”
Kansas currently ranks 16th out of 51 on The Heritage Foundation’s Election Integrity Scorecard.
