Heritage Action Applauds House Impeachment of Mayorkas, Urges Senate Action

Press Releases · Feb 13, 2024

WASHINGTON—Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million activists nationwide, released the following statement today from Executive Vice President Ryan Walker applauding the House of Representatives for impeaching U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and urging the Senate to act:

“For three years, Americans have suffered the dangerous consequences of Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas’ criminal mismanagement of our borders and intentional refusal to enforce the laws he swore to uphold. Our government cannot function if those entrusted with preserving and protecting the Constitution are not held accountable when they act in direct contravention of the law—even when they do so at the command of the president.

“Heritage Action applauds the House for putting Americans first, following the law, and impeaching Sec. Mayorkas. The Senate now has a solemn and constitutional duty to consider the impeachment. This should be done in full view of the public so the American people can see the evidence against the person responsible for an invasion that has brought more than ten million illegal aliens into our country.”

Supported by analysis from border policy and legal scholars at The Heritage Foundation, Heritage Action has called for the impeachment of Sec. Mayorkas for a year. Heritage Action’s nationwide network of two million grassroots conservatives have driven thousands of calls to congressional offices, leading us to where we are now.
