WASHINGTON — Heritage Action Executive Director Jessica Anderson made the following statement concerning Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to pull the floor vote on H.R. 3684, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, from the House schedule tonight.
“Tonight, Speaker Pelosi canceled the floor vote on part one of President Biden’s tax and spending plan because she does not have the votes to pass it. This news is a win for the taxpayers, families, and workers who have fought the Biden spending spree from day one, but the fight is far from over. As President Biden and Congressional Democrats continue to push their harmful agenda by any means necessary, Americans will keep turning up the pressure.
As inflation surges to the highest level in 13 years and the national debt approaches $30 trillion, Americans are growing sick and tired of Washington's out-of-control spending problem. Any member of Congress who wants to stand up for the taxpaying Americans that they represent must whole-heartedly reject the Pelosi-Biden agenda.”
In August, Executive Director Jessica Anderson announced the launch of Heritage Action’s Save Our Paychecks National Tour in response to the Biden-Harris Administration’s war on Americans’ pocketbooks. Across the months of August and September, elected officials and small business owners joined us on tour stops across the country to highlight the American workers who have been left behind by Biden’s economic agenda.
Executive Director Jessica Anderson released a statement following the Senate vote calling the bill a “‘Trojan horse’ for the upcoming $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill.” Anderson continued by saying, “Senators should have rejected the ‘bipartisan’ bill. Now they must reject efforts by the ‘Squad’ and the rest of the far Left to jam through a reckless tax and spending spree that will saddle our children with debt, fund a woke policy agenda, and put Americans last.”
