WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, including thousands of Michiganders, released the following statement from Executive Vice President Ryan Walker condemning Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s signing of a radical pro-abortion bill package that would repeal widely supported abortion regulations.
“In another display of the Left’s dangerous contempt for women and unborn children, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed into law her most radical pro-abortion bill package to date. This so-called 'Reproductive Health Act' removes common sense health and safety regulations for abortion clinics and allows gruesome, late-term partial birth abortions. On top of this, it removes transparency for the abortion industry by eliminating abortion complication reporting, harming both mothers and their babies.
“These pro-abortion policies are not popular in Michigan, as 90 percent of Michiganders support abortion clinic health and safety regulations. Heritage Action condemns the passing and signing of Governor Whitmer’s radical pro-abortion agenda that threatens the lives of thousands of Michigan babies and their mothers. Protecting the unborn is not just pro-life, it is also pro-woman, and we look forward to working alongside grassroots Michiganders to continue to fight for life in the Great Lakes State.”
