WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, including thousands of Georgians, released the following statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson urging the passage of SB 233, The Georgia Promise Scholarship Act, legislation that would expand education opportunities for Georgia families through education scholarship accounts for alternative education options.
“Georgia students should have access to the best education options that fit their needs. Families in the Peach State deserve more flexibility with their schooling options and SB 233 provides it by funding accounts parents could use to send their children to private schools, or to spend the funds on tutoring, curricula and textbooks, and other school supplies. This would give families the tools they need to help their children reach their full academic potential.
Now that the COVID pandemic is over and parents can see what their children are being taught in classrooms, expanding education freedom all over America is more important than ever. Thanks to Senator Greg Dolezal for introducing SB 233, Georgia is one step closer to giving families the educational freedom they need. Heritage Action urges the Georgia Senate to swiftly consider and pass this legislation, and we look forward to working alongside parents and grandparents across Georgia to further advance this effort.”
