WASHINGTON — Today, Heritage Action, a conservative organization with two million grassroots activists nationwide, including thousands of Floridians, released a statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson supporting the Florida House of Representatives on the passage of HB 5, which would protect unborn babies after 15 weeks of gestation and provide resources to reduce infant mortality.
“Three in four Florida voters support protecting unborn lives late in pregnancy. That’s precisely why HB 5 is needed—it is an important bill that will save countless lives of babies and their mothers in the state of Florida, both during pregnancy and after. We stand with the Florida representatives who voted to advance this bill and urge the Florida Senate to immediately consider this legislation so that Governor DeSantis can sign HB 5 into law to protect unborn babies after 15 weeks of gestation in the state of Florida.
As we approach the possibility of a post-Roe America and the power to protect life is rightfully returned to the states, we must ensure pro-life laws like HB 5 are on the books in states across the country.”
