Washington - Yesterday, Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Mark Kirk (R-IL) both called for the Senate to fully consider President Obama's future Supreme Court nominee, including hearings and a floor vote. Heritage Action released the following statement from chief executive officer Michael A. Needham:
"Senators Collins and Kirk are doing their constituents and the nation a disservice by pretending President Obama's radical nature will suddenly disappear in the coming months. By falsely invoking the Constitution as demanding committee hearings and a floor vote, they are ignoring the American people who now have voice in the nomination and selection of the next Supreme Court justice through their votes."
