WASHINGTON — Today, Heritage Action released a statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson responding to the Occupational Health and Safety Administration’s (OSHA) announcement of an emergency rule for the COVID-19 vaccine mandate for private employers:
This vaccine mandate is an unlawful order, and a blatant abuse of power from the Biden administration dictating the personal medical decisions of millions of Americans. Congress has never granted OSHA the statutory authority to issue and enforce such a rule, and it must be opposed in court. State attorneys general, employers, workers, and individuals should use all legal avenues to fight this unlawful order.
Most importantly, no member of Congress should vote for an omnibus appropriations package that fully funds the mandate and authorizes OSHA or other federal agencies to enact or enforce illegal, counterproductive vaccine mandates.
President Biden’s repeated power grabs will not go unanswered. Americans are sick of mandates and unlawful orders, and they deserve a government that respects their rights.
