Press Releases · Feb 28, 2022

WASHINGTON — Today, Heritage Action, a conservative organization with two million grassroots activists nationwide, including thousands of Arizonans, released a statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson applauding the Arizona legislature on the passage of The Arizonans for Voter ID Act, which would create universal voter ID requirements.

The Arizonans for Voter ID Act ballot initiative is an important, widely popular measure that protects the vote by creating universal voter ID requirements and ensures that only votes cast by legally eligible voters are counted. More than 80% of likely Arizona voters support requiring photo ID to vote.

Arizonans agree: it should be easy to vote and hard to cheat. Our elections are the bedrock of our republic, and voting should be secure, fair, and transparent. Heritage Action thanks these legislators for listening to their constituents and securing Arizona’s elections by voting to advance SCR1012 and HCR2025.”

Background:

  • Earlier this week, Heritage Action joined a coalition letter urging Arizona leadership to consider this initiative.

  • Last year, Heritage Action invested an initial $10 million into a first-ever state advocacy campaign to secure and strengthen state election systems. This year, Heritage Action is continuing to work with state governments and grassroots leaders to advance conservative priorities in the states.
