5,700 Comments and Counting: Heritage Action Grassroots Flood SEC Climate Disclosure Rule

Press Releases · Jun 17, 2022

WASHINGTON – Today, Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, released a statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson following the submission of over 5,000 comments in less than one week from grassroots activists on President Biden’s Climate Disclosure Rule.

Submitting comments and engaging in the rulemaking process is one of the most important tools we have as grassroots activists to fight back against the Biden administration’s radical climate activism. With over 5,700 comments already submitted, our voices are being heard and the administrative state is being held accountable.

The SEC’s Climate Disclosure Rule is just the latest attempt from the Biden administration to weaponize corporate America, advance the Left’s Green New Deal agenda, and create a ‘social credit score’ to promote woke ESG standards. For too long, the Biden administration has unilaterally pushed radical policy through the rulemaking process, but Heritage Action’s grassroots’ engaging the rulemaking process will be the start of a new form of activism to protect our economy, American values, and future generations from the long arm of Biden’s administrative state.

Background:

  • Heritage Action published a toolkit for grassroots activists to submit comments on the Biden administration’s proposed Climate Disclosure Rule. The toolkit explained the rulemaking and comment process, and encouraged individuals to have their voices heard on this important issue.

  • So far, over 5,700 comments have been submitted through the toolkit’s submission section. The deadline to submit comments is today, June 17, 2022.
