"NO" on Amendment to Revive Trade Adjustment Assistance

This week, Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will attempt to revive the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program with an amendment to the Extension of Generalized System of Preferences (H.R. 2832). Numerous evaluations have found TAA, which dispenses generous benefits for just a fraction of the unemployed, is ineffective in raising the wages of participants.

Heritage Action opposes Trade Adjustment Assistance and will include the amendment as a key vote in our scorecard.
