House Cloakroom

Analysis: On Saturday, the House did its part to take a government shutdown off the table by passing a bill that funded the government while delaying the implementation of Obamacare for one year.  This week’s schedule is fluid  as the House will wait for the Senate to act on the funding bill before October 1, when the government would shut down and enrollment for the Obamacare exchanges begins.

Senate Cloakroom

Analysis:  When the Senate returns on Monday, it will consider the latest government funding bill passed by the House.  Over the weekend, Harry Reid proclaimed the bill as amended by the House is dead on arrival.  Reid has several ways to maneuver through the bill, but time is limited because the Senate was not in this weekend.
