Action Alert: Urge Your Members of Congress to Treat the Debt Limit Responsibly
70% of Americans do not want to raise the debt limit – Americans want to cut federal spending. What the Obama administration wants is a blank check to continue their recklessspending. Congress cannot issue that check.
Instead of writing yet another blank check, Congress should pass the Full Faith and Credit Act (S. 193 & HR 421). This bill would require the Treasury Department to rightly prioritize debt obligations, while Congress takes a responsible approach to the debt limit debate, without hysterical claims of default and depression.
