WASHINGTON — Today, Heritage Action, a conservative organization with two million grassroots activists nationwide, including thousands of Utahns, released a statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson applauding Utah legislators on the passage of HB 313.
“Heritage Action thanks the Utah legislators who voted to advance HB 313, which strengthens voter ID requirements, ensures elections are free from the corrupting influence of private donors, and protects ballot drop boxes through 24-hour surveillance. We urge Governor Spencer Cox to sign this bipartisan bill into law immediately.
Utah’s election laws have room for improvement, ranking 41st in the nation according to the Heritage Foundation’s Election Integrity Scorecard. State legislators should continue to take steps to secure Utah's elections by prioritizing legislation like HB 313.”
