WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, including thousands of North Carolinians, released the following statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson praising the North Carolina General Assembly for overriding Governor Roy Cooper’s veto of House Bill 750, legislation that clarifies fiduciary duty and prohibits asset managers from considering ESG factors when making investment decisions.
“Hardworking North Carolina families and retirees deserve to have the highest returns on investments possible instead of having their money invested in political agendas that contradict their values. By overriding Governor Roy Cooper’s veto of House Bill 750, the North Carolina General Assembly has once again taken action to defend North Carolinians’ savings from the threat of ESG. House Bill 750 protects North Carolina funds against ESG by clarifying fiduciary duty and prohibiting asset managers from considering ESG factors when making investment decisions.
It’s important for conservatives to keep standing up to the Left’s progressive agenda and fighting back against ESG. Heritage Action thanks Representative Destin Hall for sponsoring HB 750 and the North Carolina General Assembly for overriding Governor Cooper’s veto. We look forward to continuing the fight against ESG alongside grassroots Americans across the country.”
