Washington - Tonight, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley delivered the official Republican response to President Obama's final State of the Union speech. Heritage Action released the following statement from chief executive officer Michael A. Needham:
"Governor Haley represents the future of a conservative Republican Party. In contrast to the president's hopelessly out of touch diatribe, she delivered a winsome message and painted an authentically optimistic vision for America's future. The governor is right: conservatives have the policies to create opportunity for all Americans, but all too often the bipartisan Washington Establishment has been more interested in preserving the status quo. Our nation will be stronger and more dynamic when a political party in Washington begins confronting the collusion between special interests and government."
