Washington - Tonight, the House of Representatives voted to freeze President Obama's unlawful Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program by passing H.R. 5727. Heritage Action, which key voted in favor of the bill introduced by Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), released the following statement from chief executive officer Michael A. Needham:

"Tonight was a good night for the Republican-controlled House. Not only did they demonstrate an ability to achieve Republican unity on an important, high-profile issue, but they did so by working with conservatives. They have sent a strong message that they are ready to solve the crisis along our southwest border, which includes addressing the cause -- President Obama's unlawful DACA program. The onus is now on Harry Reid to act."
