WASHINGTON—Heritage Action, a conservative organization with 2.5 million grassroots activists nationwide, released a statement from Heritage Action Vice President of Outreach and Advocacy Janae Stracke ahead of the Senate’s consideration of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, legislation which restores the integrity of Title IX by ensuring female student athletes only compete against other female athletes. The legislation was introduced by Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.) in the House and Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) in the Senate.
“Senator Tuberville has been a steadfast fighter in advancing the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act - critical legislation that will protect the integrity of women’s and girls' sports. Heritage Action has been advocating for this legislation since 2022, recognizing the need for a level playing field. Today, the Senate will take an important step toward protecting fairness and opportunity
“This is not just a victory for women in sports – it’s one of the first actions Congress has taken to codify President Trump’s executive orders, safeguarding his legacy and ensuring future generations of women and girls will continue to have a chance to thrive in athletic competition. We urge all Senators to vote yes on this important legislation.”
