WASHINGTON — Heritage Action, a national conservative grassroots organization, released a statement from Executive Director Jessica Anderson applauding Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for his leadership on election integrity.
“Heritage Action fully supports Governor DeSantis’ proposals to strengthen election integrity in Florida and urges the Florida legislature to take action.
Florida has clear-cut election laws on the books and ranks high on The Heritage Foundation Election Integrity Scorecard, thanks in part to last year’s successful S.B. 90, but there are still ways to further improve Florida’s election integrity.
For instance, inaccuracies in voter registration lists, lack of county-wide uniformity investigating potential election crimes, and lax ballot drop box security are areas ripe for improvement this legislative session.
Governor DeSantis has proposed legislative fixes to these election integrity law gaps, but no bill text reflecting his initiatives has emerged so far in the first three weeks of the Florida legislature.
Heritage Action is fully supportive of Governor DeSantis' proposed election integrity measures and we urge state lawmakers to bring forth legislation that fully embraces these policy initiatives.”
