WASHINGTON - Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with over 2.5 million grassroots activists nationwide, praised the South Carolina General Assembly for passing Senate Bill 62, legislation that restores and expands the Education Scholarship Trust Fund and makes education freedom a reality for students across the Palmetto State.

Heritage Action South Carolina State Director James Quarles released the following statement in support of Senate Bill 62:

Heritage Action commends the South Carolina General Assembly for passing Senate Bill 62, sorely needed legislation that empowers parents with the flexibility to choose the best education for their children.
The South Carolina Supreme Court’s outrageous and unjust October ruling dismantled a previous version of the Education Scholarship Trust Fund, stripping thousands of low-income families of educational choice. With the restoration of the ESTF program, Senate Bill 62 not only makes it possible for those families impacted by the Court’s ruling to continue to choose the education options that work best for them, but it expands eligibility for the program, providing educational freedom to even more families across the Palmetto State. We look forward to Governor Henry McMaster swiftly signing Senate Bill 62 into law.”
