WASHINGTON - Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with over 2.5 million grassroots activists nationwide, including thousands of Missourians, praised Senator Ben Brown and the Missouri General Assembly for passing Senate Bill 152, legislation that safeguards state elections from foreign funding and restores election integrity to the Show-Me-State.
Heritage Action Missouri State Director Chandra Hendren released the following statement in support of Senate Bill 152:
“Foreign funding has no place in Missouri elections. Free and fair elections are the bedrock of our republic. This action demonstrates Missouri’s continued commitment to ensure its constitution and laws are based on the voices of its citizens – not foreign billionaires.
Missouri now joins the six states who have passed similar legislation to protect their elections. Heritage Action commends Missourians’ commitment to election integrity and urges Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe to sign SB 152 into law to protect the elections and the voters of the Show-Me-State.”
The Missouri passage of SB 152 reflects the rising tide of grassroots activists committed to returning trust in state elections. Foreign powers are directly influencing elections nationwide, and Honest Election Project reports that 78% of Americans concur foreign powers should not be impacting U.S. elections.
The State of Missouri currently ranks 9th out of 51 on The Heritage Foundation’s Election Integrity Scorecard.
