WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with 2.5 million grassroots activists nationwide, including thousands of Arkansans, praised the Arkansas General Assembly’s passage and Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders' signing of HB 1683, legislation that thwarts the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and actively protects US national security by ensuring no governmental entity in Arkansas obtains electric vehicles or vehicle components that were manufactured using forced labor during any stage of the manufacturing process.
Heritage Action Arkansas State Director Chandra Hendren released the following statement in support of HB 1683:
“Make no mistake: The United States is in a New Cold War with the People’s Republic of China, led and controlled by the CCP. The CCP is actively undermining American manufacturing jobs through its development and exportation of electric vehicles.
Governor Sanders and Representative Mindy McAlindon are pioneering the defense of American jobs and American values by enacting HB 1683 into law in Arkansas. We commend the state of Arkansas for their resolve in confronting the CCP, safeguarding American economic prosperity and defending our national security.”
