Heritage Action Applauds Missouri House Passage of Women’s Privacy Act, Urges Senate to Act

Press Releases · Apr 16, 2026

Washington, D.C.—Heritage Action today praised the Missouri House of Representatives for passing HB 2536, the Women’s Privacy Act, yesterday and called on the Missouri Senate to take up and advance the legislation without delay.

For years, radical gender activists have pushed policies that blur the biological differences between men and women, undermining privacy and putting the safety of women and girls at risk in spaces where they are most vulnerable. HB 2536 restores clarity by establishing biological definitions of “male” and “female” in Missouri law, protecting sex-separated spaces, reinforcing fairness in women’s sports, and safeguarding students.

Chandra Hendren, Missouri State Director for Heritage Action issued the following statement:

HB 2536 is a commonsense measure that puts the safety and privacy of women and girls first by grounding Missouri law in biological reality. We thank Representative Becky Laubinger and the Missouri House for taking decisive action to protect women’s sports and private spaces. The Senate should act swiftly to pass this bill and send it to the governor’s desk.”

Missouri has the opportunity to lead by reaffirming that the rights and privacy of women and girls are worthy of protection and cannot be sacrificed to activist agendas. Heritage Action urges the Missouri Senate to pass HB 2536 without delay.
