WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with 2 million grassroots activists, released a statement from Executive Vice President Ryan Walker calling on the Senate and House to reject the Biden administration’s supplemental aid request.
“The Biden Administration’s $105 billion request for emergency supplemental spending is a disingenuous effort to conflate and leverage popular support for Israel for continued spending on the conflict in Ukraine and an open southern border. Manipulating American support for Israel’s response to the murderous Hamas terrorism for additional funds to Ukraine and an open southern border is unconscionable.
“Americans have been generous with Ukraine, sending more than $113 billion since the start of the conflict. This is in spite of a lack of accountability measures or a plan from the administration outlining American commitment to Ukraine. Now, they are asking for an additional $60 billion, which would ultimately result in the United States funding Ukraine more in the last 18 months than it has funded Israel – our closest ally in the Middle East– since World War II.
“Since Biden took office, 7.4 million inadmissible aliens have entered the U.S. through our borders. An additional 1.5 million illegal aliens got away or evaded the U.S. Border Patrol. This administration has willfully opened the door at the border for illegal migrants, and potential terrorists, to enter our country. Now they are asking for an additional $14 billion to continue these reckless policies. All while using Israel assistance as a leverage point to accomplish separate political priorities.
“Israel and the Middle East need American leadership without the shadow and constraints of additional Ukraine funds and cash to fuel an open southern border. As a major non-NATO ally with decades of deep and lasting friendship with the United States, Israel deserves more.”
