WASHINGTON – Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization with two million grassroots activists, including thousands of Floridians, released the following statement from Janae Stracke, Vice President of Field Operations, commending the Florida House’s passage of HB 1, legislation that would expand eligibility for Education Savings Accounts to all K-12 students.
“Florida continues to lead the way in parental rights in education freedom. By passing HB 1, the Florida House has taken an important step to expand eligibility for Education Savings Accounts and make them available to all K-12 students. This legislation would allow families of all backgrounds to swap an ineffective education system for a fully customized education that best fits their unique needs.
All children in the Sunshine State deserve a quality education. This legislation builds on the progress of other education initiatives in Florida and solidifies the state as a leader in the education reform movement. Heritage Action commends the Florida House for their quick passage of HB 1 and thanks House Speaker Paul Renner and Rep. Kaylee Tuck for their work to stand up for students and families in Florida. We look forward to the Senate passing this important legislation and Governor DeSantis signing the bill into law.”
