America is blessed with majestic natural beauty—the U.S. National Parks System was established in 1916 to honor this truth.
Sadly, many of our national parks have aging infrastructure, and continuously patching more than $23 billion in deferred maintenance. To protect our treasured national lands, Congress must act.
The PATRIOT Parks Act (Protecting America’s Treasures by Raising Inflow from Overseas Tourists Parks Act) (H.R. 4604 / S. 2308) would require foreign visitors to pay higher entry fees that would go toward park maintenance. Americans already support the parks through admission fees and taxes, these bills would help ensure those fees remain low for American citizens.
The PATRIOT Parks Act would codify President Trump’s July 3, 2025, Executive Order to “Make America Beautiful Again by Improving Our National Parks” which directed the National Parks Service to implement a foreign visitor fee. All surcharge revenue will go toward park maintenance and restoration and local park leaders will be able to direct the specific funds allocations based on their parks’ condition.
Congress must pass the PATRIOT Parks Act and help restore our national parks. The bill has been introduced in both the House and Senate, and both chambers need to hear from you.
