The Left is attempting to erase distinctions between male and female, deny biological reality, and hijack our military for social experimentation. By ensuring our institutions reflect core truths about the differences between men and women, we combat this ideological threat to family and American society.
As the military remains one of Americans’ most respected institutions, it is frequently targeted by activists. President Trump’s Executive Order 14183, “Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness,” outlines a clear policy for the armed forces: “It is the policy of the United States Government to establish high standards for troop readiness, lethality, cohesion, honesty, humility, uniformity, and integrity. This policy is inconsistent with the medical, surgical, and mental health constraints on individuals with gender dysphoria. This policy is also inconsistent with shifting pronoun usage or use of pronouns that inaccurately reflect an individual’s sex.”
The President’s executive order is a good start but requires codification to ward against a future Democrat administration seeking to roll back protections on biological reality in the military. Representative Boebert’s amendment would do just that.
Of note, this amendment does not place restrictions on men's or women’s ability to serve; only requiring that men serve as men and women serve as women. Those confused by this distinction are not fit for the rigor of military service.
Our military operates as an all-volunteer force. No one is forced to join, and not all are cut out to serve. It is an honor and privilege to serve one’s country in the armed forces, not a right. Individuals are disqualified from service for issues far less severe than gender dysphoria. Uniform standards for fitness and readiness must be enforced for the protection of our servicemembers.
