The Senate has a growing to-do list, but instead of finishing the job, they're ready to head home.
If our elected Republican leaders are serious about securing our elections, they should stay in session, bring the SAVE America Act to the floor, and do whatever it takes—including enforcing a talking filibuster or including funding for election integrity in a budget resolution—to get it across the finish line.
The House has already passed the SAVE America Act, legislation that would require proof of citizenship to register to vote and photo identification to cast a ballot in federal elections. The House has also passed a budget resolution to fund SAVE-style election integrity measures. Now the Senate must act.
The Senate has a duty to represent the majority of Americans who agree that securing our elections is a top priority. The Senate should not go on recess until this is done.
It’s time, once again, to remind your senators that you expect them to bring the SAVE America Act to the floor for a vote.
