Congress: Give America a Budget Win With Reconciliation 3.0

America deserves a gift of real value for its 250th birthday: Congress rooting out wasteful and reckless government spending of taxpayer dollars.

But time is running out and the GOP risks leaving valuable wins on the table.

They need to act quickly because there’s even more work to be done. In the next two weeks, Congress must pass a third budget resolution to initiate the process of passing a “Reconciliation 3.0” bill to deliver more wins for Americans. For example, institutions like Planned Parenthood are set to begin receiving federal funding at the taxpayer’s expense starting July 4th. Time is ticking!

Budget reforms via reconciliation can help crack down on fraud and wasteful spending to keep the federal bureaucracy accountable and bring meaningful financial relief to Americans. Congress can also use reconciliation to enact reforms that would:

  • Improve transparency from healthcare providers, so patients know exactly what they are paying for.
  • Fix the remittance tax. Illegal aliens often seek to send money home to family members outside the country, and a remittance is an outbound transfer of money internationally. Billions of U.S. dollars have left the U.S. in remittances without benefitting the U.S. economy, and much of this is based on unauthorized work by illegal aliens. Congress should prevent future illegal immigration and strengthen the deterrence for illegal aliens to remain in the United States by preventing remittances sent by aliens who are deportable or not authorized to work here.
  • Support family growth by creating Newlywed Early Starter Trust (NEST) accounts and providing an initial government deposit and tax-advantaged savings to married couples between the ages of 18 and 30, for newborns.

These reforms would deliver real wins for the American people and promote better stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

Urge Congress to pass a new budget resolution and move Reconciliation 3.0 as quickly as possible!
