SAVE our elections

My name is [NAME] and I am a constituent from [CITY, STATE].

I am calling to urge [SENATOR] to support the SAVE America Act (H.R. 7296/House Amendment to S.1383). 

This bill would mandate that states require proof of citizenship before registering individuals to vote AND requires individuals to present an eligible photo identification document before casting a ballot.

This bill is an upgrade and builds upon the previously filed SAVE Act that only required proof of citizenship.

While citizenship is already required to vote, many states have legal loopholes that allow non-citizens to vote. For example, many states do not require proof of citizenship to acquire a drivers’ license, yet they accept drivers’ licenses as proof of voter eligibility.

Polling has found 83% of American adults support requiring all voters to show government-issued photo identification to vote, and that includes 71% of Democrats.

Our Republic cannot survive if the people lose faith in the accuracy of our election results. We must guarantee that only American citizens vote in American elections.
