Morning Action: Senate Ignores America, Undercuts the House

HERITAGE ACTION. Heritage Action CEO Mike Needham was on Fox News Wednesday morning to discuss the events taking place in the House and Senate, Obamacare, and Heritage Action’s perspective on the plans forming in the both chambers.  He notes that the Senate has ignored the perspective of millions of Americans who oppose Obamacare, while the House has been working to stop Obamacare:

It remains to be seen whether the House will succeed in stopping Obamacare, however.  According to some reports, the Senate will reveal its plan this morning, and Rep.         The house passed a bill bill to retroactively pay us but the senate didn’t. I’m not worried about getting paid for two weeks. If it were between getting paid for two weeks and get rid of ACA I’d take the latter. I know it’s probably a unpopular view among federal employees but there are some of us out there that are responsible and actually care about the future of our country! I work for an extremely liberal federal agency and have to ‘bite my tongue’ all the time at work to be politically correct. I actually believed in what Ted Cruz was trying to do.

If you turn everything over to the Democrats you’ll find your rights to bear arms up for grabs. You’ll find democrats will raise taxes again and continue to weaken our financial stability.

        What we need is a convention of the states, as argued by the erudite Mark Levin in The Liberty Amendments.

        How is electing more Republicans going to help, folks? We’re waaaaaaaaay beyond that now. The last election was ALL about voting in Tea Party Republicans whose entire campaigns were based on repealing Obamacare. That’s how they got our money and our votes.

        Once they were securely ensconced in the Beltway with all its benefits and perks, a majority of these newbies turned their backs on their constituents and supporters. In short, they caved. They shamelessly caved on everything important to us.

        Those of integrity and courage were subjected to a RINO stream of ridicule and abuse (Ted Cruz, etc.).

        We need a solution that circumvents the President, Congress, the Senate, and the Supreme Court. And it’s found in our Constitution’s Article V: the Framers’ “reset” button.

        That’s what needs to be done, so we’ve got plenty of work to do.

Jim Demint, Congressman turned lobbyist makes his new income using “hate” as a commodity. And who’s Jim Demints new best friend in this business venture? Why none other than Cruz. It all made sense when I saw Palin with Cruz on your blog as she is well known to perform “hate for pay” tactics. What saddens me is thru rhetoric and name calling a fever of hate of separation takes place as neighbors are put against neighbors all to “make a buck” .. It makes one wonder if this whole shutdown had anything to with AAC or government funding or whatever the topic of the day is but is it just more about keeping groups separate so that those hard working Americans stupidly send there money into a fight perpetuated by hates groups while the message is delivered by the new televangelists of hate like Palin and Cruz….its hate for profit.

The Fourteenth Amendment, Section 4, requires that we service our debt first. We currently collect more than enough tax revenue to service our debt if we do that first. However, we don’t have enough money to continue to finance our ever-growing federal government (with our $17 trillion dollar national debt that has increased over 50% since Obama took office). That’s why President Obama wants to increase the debt limit. He doesn’t want to make the tough decisions to rein in government spending. So, he’s scaremongering the markets about default, just as he tries to scaremonger our senior citizens about their Social Security, which, by the way, is funded by the Social Security Trust Fund and is solvent through 2038.

        In 2007 an ignorant electorate gave him the majority of the popular vote and he also won enough votes in the electoral college to be elected. In 2012 there . is room to debate that the Democrats cheated and stole the election, helped by a biased IRS, but it is also possible that the failure of conservatives and libertarians to get out and vote were as much responsible for Obama winning as the cheating from his side. I think anyone would be hard pressed to PROVE that Romney won the popular vote

However, note that I did not say it was their fault that they are ignorant. Most were never taught how to think, only what to think. Most were never taught to listen for what is not said as well as what is said. Most accept the words of politicians that their parents supported, not because the politicians are doing the country any good, but because “we’ve always done it this way”. Most voters are ignorant of the laws of economics, so they stab themselves in the back when they vote without understanding what they are likely to get. They do not understand that as long as government controls the schools, they will be taught what the government wants them to learn, be it federal or state government. One of the problems is that parents and teachers do not teach their children how to think because they, themselves do not know how to think. So I will not apologize if I have offended any sensibilities. Learning how to think is not easy for everyone. It takes training, and concentration, butd I do not see it happening in the United States to any gfreat degree. .

    Obama care will collapse on its own in time. The law does nothing about providing Affordable Health Care except to those that dont work and wort work.. It is another way of transfering the wealth. The bad part about the law is that it bloats the federal government with more employees and non medical government employees will be making your medical decisions insted of your doctor and you.. As to the Tea Party, we should be thankful for their efforts. Otherwise the audacity of demicrats that ignored the will of the people would have just been swept under the carpet like so many other Obama failures like Bengazi, NDA, FBI, IRS, Eric Holder to name a few.

            The left started the whole SUPER PAC fiasco in the first place… now they further their innate hypocrisy by decrying them… only the ones on the right..of course they are perfectly fine with SUPER PACS funded by Soros, Buffet, Move-on, SEIU…. I could continue but why…you should get the point… The LEFT are all butt hurt because the right caught on to the 501c game the left created during The Bush Presidency & jumped in the game monopolized by LIBERALS!
            HOWEVER, did Bush use the IRS to attack SORO’s/ BUFFET/ MOVE ON or any other LIBERAL group? Oh no, that’s right, Obama did that because the left are dirty thugs with no true internal moral compass!! Their reactions are always feigned & conclusions based on “group think”…

    I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill
    3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with
    particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law. I was
    frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being discussed might be unconstitutional.

    What I found was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

    To
    begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its
    implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media
    are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care,
    particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are
    involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion
    services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of
    the medical profession.

    The
    Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of
    business,and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions
    about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal
    bureaucrats, and most of them will not be health care professionals.
    Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of
    necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled by the government.

    However,
    as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In fact, I
    have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of
    providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient
    cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of
    government that has ever occurred,or even been contemplated. If this law
    or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the
    United States will effectively have been destroyed.

    The
    first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power
    between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S.
    Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama
    Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives
    of the American people, and the businesses they own.

    The
    irony is that the Congress doesn’t have any authority to legislate in
    most of those areas to begin with! I defy anyone to read the text of the
    U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of
    Congress to regulate health care.

    This
    legislation also provides for access, by the appointees of the Obama
    administration, of all of your personal healthcare a direct violation of
    the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution,
    information, your personal financial information, and the information of
    your employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a protecting
    against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about
    the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into oblivion
    regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide.

    If
    you decide not to have healthcare insurance, or if you have private
    insurance that is not deemed acceptable to the Health Choices
    Administrator appointed by Obama, there will be a tax imposed on you. It
    is called a tax instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid
    application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment. However ,
    that doesn’t work because since there is nothing in the law that allows
    you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is definitely
    depriving someone of property without the due process of law.

    So,
    there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so
    much, out the original ten in the Bill of Rights, that are effectively
    nullified by this law. It doesn’t stop there though.

    The
    9th Amendment that provides: The enumeration in the Constitution, of
    certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others
    retained by the people;

    The
    10th Amendment states: The powers not delegated to the United States by
    the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are preserved to
    the States respectively, or to the people. Under the provisions of this
    piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people nor the states are
    going to have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were
    theirs to control.

    I
    could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you get
    the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power and
    limiting rights. Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members of
    both houses of Congress to “be bound by oath or affirmation to support
    the Constitution.” If I was a member of Congress I would not be able to
    vote for this legislation or anything like it, without feeling I was
    violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway, I
    would hope the American people would hold me accountable.

    For
    those who might doubt the nature of this threat, I suggest they consult
    the source, the U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights. There you can
    see exactly what we are about to have taken from us.

    Finally, and adult in the room! Mitch McConnell has taken the bravest step anyone in his position could take. He knows that he will take the heat of the ideologues and nut jobs, but he placed his country above their pettiness. In one step, he has:

    1. Shown that Republicans and Democrats can work together (something that some people don’t even believe in anymore).

    2. Ended the costly government shutdown that actually has cost us jobs.

    3. Prevented a default on our obligations. This is a real conservative. You spend the money, you pay the bills. You borrow money, you pay it back when promised. You don’t use some excuse about being mad at some other law and then not pay your bills.

    4. Stopped the precedent that a government shutdown becomes a recurring bullet that you shoot at the American public every time you want a law changed. For those Tea Party people who think this is a good tactic, what would you say if the Democrats shut down the government until gun control got passed? Fair game? Still a good idea?

      Kalder, I’ve gone back and read all your comments. Obamacare is NOT a LAW. It is a TAX, as defined by the Supreme Court. As a LAW they said it was unconstitutional. We the people are having to deal with a MASSIVE TAX INCREASE that was passed by Democrats, not by Republicans, being shoved down our throats. There was plenty of money coming in to the government to pay OBLIGATIONS of entitlements and debt servicing. There is NOT plenty of money coming in from the less than 50% of people who actually work and report earnings to pay for illness care for citizens who do not work and illegals. A real conservative does not spend more than is coming in. Try spending more in your business than you have coming in and in savings, if indeed you are a real business owner, and tell us how that works for you. Personally, I think you need to go back to class and read the Constitution and find out who is CUPPOSED to control spending for this country. PSSST, it is not OBAMA.
